THE GOAL OF ERADICATION OF POLIO WORLD WIDE was begun in 1979 and has raised over $600 million and
provided an army of volunteers via Rotary Clubs to promote and run National Immunization Days.
Bill Gates has donated millions to help Rotary continue the fight to eradicae polio world wide. He has
just issued another $225 million challenge to Rotarians to collect donations to meet/beat his donation.

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in
particular, to encourage and foster: - First: The development of acquatintance as the opportunity
for service;
- Second: High ethical standards in business and professions: the recognition of
the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifing by each Rotarian of his or her occupation as an opportunity to
serve society.
- Third: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal,
business, and community life.
- Fourth: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill,
and peace throughout the world of fellowship of business and professional people united in the ideal of service.
